Patrick McGuinness Formally Announces Campaign for HD 52
Engineer, Entrepreneur, Constitutional Conservative, and Republican leader Enters Contested Race for Open Seat
Georgetown, TX – Monday, 11/01/21, Patrick McGuinness formally announces his campaign for House District 52, the seat abandoned by Democrat Rep. James Talarico weeks earlier.
“As a thirty year resident of Central Texas, I have spent my life working hard as an engineer in high-technology, raising a family, and supporting conservative causes and Republican candidates. In both my technology career and in politics, I have gained experience innovating, solving difficult problems, and leading with vision. I am ready to take those skills to the Texas House to fight for our conservative values and to proudly serve the people of House District 52and represent their best interests at all times,” said McGuinness.
After earning his PhD in Computer Science, Patrick and his wife Celest moved to Central Texas, where they have resided for the past three decades. Together they have four children, three of whom graduated from Round Rock public schools, while their youngest currently attends Gateway College Prep in Georgetown. Patrick and his family live near Georgetown and are members of St. Helen’s Catholic Church.
“What began in college as volunteering for local Republicans quickly became a passion, and I have never stopped working to elect conservatives and standing up for our ideals,” stated McGuinness.
Patrick McGuinness has served as a precinct chair, and served as an officer in Republican clubs, including the North Austin Republicans, which he also founded. Patrick served as a volunteer on the Cruz 2016 Presidential Campaign’s data team, and also led the efforts to defeat a flawed Round Rock school bond package in 2017 that would have raised property taxes and increased local debt.
“James Talarico may not like the new voters of House District 52, but I certainly do. I look forward to meeting more members of this community and sharing my uncompromising conservative beliefs and the proven, principled, problem-solving credentials I bring to this race that set me apart from others,” concluded McGuinness.
